About me

Hello! I am Siyao Li. Welcome to my website.

I am from Changchun, Jilin Province, China. The climate in my hometown is similar to Chicago. It snows a lot in winter and the spring is very short. Not to mention the strong wind! I received B.S. in Communication Engineering (2015) from Jilin University and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2016) from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am currently pursuing my Ph.D at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) under the supervision of Professor Natasha Devroye, Professor Daniela Tuninetti, Professor Hulya Seferoglu and Professor Besma Smida. I mainly focus on the field of Information Theory, which is theoretical, challenging but interesting. I like watching basketball games. My favorite basketball player is LeBron James. I love travelling and exploring.

Research

My research interests include

  • Information Theory

  • Communications Theory

My current research topic is On the Capacity of the Fading AWGN Broadcast Channel without CSITx with Channel Output Feedback.
